S & J Sporting Goods of Newberry, MI is owned and operated by Steve Maki.  The Maki family has been providing Upper Peninsula Sporting Goods and Services since 1992.  Steve is an avid outdoorsman along with a history of racing and hunting.  The Maki family has dedicated their support, time and energy to the TMCMX Motorsports Park of Newberry.  This organization holds a couple races per year for many ages of youth.

Steve Maki and his family have also participated in the International 500 held annually in Sault Ste. Marie, MI.  According to the I500 website, "It's the most grueling and prestigious snowmobile race in the World!"  This race, as seen above and below are sponsored by Kovar & Pike Racing.

Steve is also a proud member of the Elk's Lodge #1705!
